Built Smarter. Delivered Faster
Currie Creek is designed to address the realities of mountain living: weather volatility, labour constraints, long build timelines, and the need for durable, high-performance homes that hold up over time.

Not a cabin. Not a condo. Not a 20-year project. This is what mountain living was missing.

Off-Site Construction
The majority of each home is constructed indoors in a controlled factory environment before being transported and assembled on site.
What typically takes 12–18 months on-site happens in 6–8 months with our off-site construction method.

Reduced Disruption
Once modules arrive on site, homes are assembled efficiently, minimizing on-hill construction time and disruption.
Shorter on-site construction means less noise, less traffic, and less impact on the resort community.

Phased Delivery
Currie Creek is a five-phase, 40-home community. Each phase consists of eight homes across two buildings.
Each phase feels complete and livable as it’s finished, so you won’t feel like you’re living beside an active building for years while later phases drag on (as typical of traditional mountain builds).

Backed by Experience
Currie Creek is developed and built by Big Block Construction. An award-winning multi-unit residential developer with over 20 years of experience, 1,600+ homes delivered, and $500M+ in construction value.
Earned national and international recognition for construction innovation, wildfire-resistant design, sustainability, and community-centered development.

Built for Everything the Mountain Can Throw At It
Alpine conditions are tough on buildings.
These homes are tougher.
Built to perform year after year without maintenance headaches.

Wildfire-Resistant Construction
Currie Creek is built for wildfire country.
Developed in collaboration with wildfire resistant experts, building science professionals, and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, these homes use non-combustible aluminum exterior cladding, high-performance roof assemblies, and sealed construction details that limit ember intrusion.
High-efficiency ventilation and superior filtration systems support safety and help protect indoor air quality during smoke events.

Energy-Efficient Systems
Fernie’s climate demands systems that perform across extreme temperature swings.
Currie Creek homes use efficient heating systems, triple-pane windows, airtight construction, and climate-appropriate HVAC to maintain comfort and manage moisture throughout the year.
The result is steady indoor comfort, lower energy costs, and reliable performance in every season.
Durable, Low-Maintenance Materials
Mountain conditions are hard on buildings. Snow, moisture, temperature swings, and sun exposure all take a toll over time.
Currie Creek uses durable exterior materials and finishes selected for real-world use, helping reduce ongoing maintenance and unnecessary replacement.
The result is simpler ownership and stronger long-term value.

Ample Storage For Alpine Living
Mountain living comes with lots of gear — and our homes are designed for all of it.
Currie Creek includes dedicated storage space and garages (in the 3-, and 4-bedroom homes) for skis, bikes, and seasonal equipment, along with entry layouts that support wet gear and daily transitions. Storage is integrated into the home, not treated as leftover space.
Everyday life stays organized and functional.
